Call your bookies! It's July.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! I'm talking about your pals that like books. This chicken is on the straight and narrow.

I thought it might be nice to start a virtual, no pressure, book club. Yes, I realize that you have one million other options for this type of "club", but I'd love you to join me! At the beginning of each month, I will post about a book I'm digging. Please feel free to post comments, start dialogues and give suggestions for future books. Your thoughts and insights are so very welcome.

This is a great summer read, but even better as an audiobook. Read by the author, providing the absolute true voice and humor, this is an unabashedly honest narrative of the ever-present struggle of womanhood and the various stages of life. As I listened, it felt like I was becoming quite acquainted with the author and even as I'm typing this, I would like to refer to her as Nora, as if she and I are friendly. She has a wonderfully dry sense of humor and a very sincere way of paying homage to the people and things about which she cares most. As a younger woman listening to an older perspective, there were some things that I have yet to personally encounter and I am grateful for that, however, I still felt that I could appreciate her gripes or gratitudes. I always find great value in listening to the stories of those more experienced with life. Nora Ephron seems like a woman that could teach you a thing or two over a cup of coffee.

Happy reading book chicks! xx....m
